Most recently we notified you of the devastating news that hit the Easy-Trim family and broke our hearts. Our Area Sales Manager, Graeme Thow was told that his 15-year-old son, Kieran, unfortunately, is suffering from two cancerous brain tumors.
As a company our employees are what make us, so we set about trying to make this difficult time that little bit easier for Kieran, his dad Graeme and the rest of his family. With the diagnosis aside for a moment, allowing him to just be a teenage boy for a moment we learned that Kieran is mad about three things: Chelsea FC, Formula 1 and Lego.
Whilst some of us question his choice of team for the football, we all have our passions and so we set about contacting them to see if there was anything they could help us with.
We would like to say a huge big thanks to Chelsea FC, Red Bull F1 Team and Lego for their support and in providing Kieran with gifts and experiences to look forward to. Later on, in the year he has been invited alongside with his dad to head down to Chelsea FC training ground for a meet and greet with the players, he has also been sent a signed shirt and other gifts from the club. Red Bull has sent him a signed racing cap and Lego have sent him some Lego pieces so he is overwhelmed.
Kieran has now undergone a number of intensive chemotherapy treatments and throughout it, all, a couple of things have remained! – His infectious smile and positive attitude! We couldn’t be prouder of how strong he has been. He said, “Although I’m going through the chemotherapy I feel the best I have felt in a long time. I am so looking forward to seeing a Chelsea FC game later in the year which has been arranged for me on behalf of Easy-Trim. Thanks for everything you have all done and the awareness raised for cancer research. Special thanks for the mention of Hannah, and her charity run which she will undertake later in the year, this has now well exceeded the target set which is fabulous.”
He still has a long way to go, with the requirement for radiotherapy treatment following his chemotherapy. With the support of his family and friends, we have every confidence in this bright, bubbly and truly outstanding young man.
Ryan, who is Kieran’s older brother, has played under 19’s football for both Luncarty and Stanley football teams so it was only fitting that both managers of the teams get themselves together. As part of a collaboration, they will be hosting a charity football match in honour of Kieran. All money raised on the day will go to Kieran directly, ensuring that smile stays firmly on his face at this difficult time. Kieran loves his football and was a regular on the Stanley and Luncarty sidelines every Sunday.
The charity football match will take place on Friday the 22nd of June 2018, there will be a 7 pm kick off at Langland Park in Luncarty. Referee of the match will be Steven Milligan and the game will be played between Luncarty & Stanley Socca. There will be a raffle on the night and any donations for this will be greatly received.
If anyone would like details on how they can make a donation for the raffle or how they can help then please do not hesitate to contact Trudi Alexander, firstname.lastname@example.org from Stanley Socca. We appreciate anything that anyone can do to help. If you are in the area then head on down and show your support for what will be a fantastic evening.
